Patient Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Patient Accounting Specialist will perform billing and follow-up for hospital claims, ensuring accurate submission and compliance with regulations while optimizing revenue through timely payment processing.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and timely billing of insurance claims in compliance with regulations and payer guidelines
• Expedite larger dollar accounts to enhance revenue optimization and ensure prompt payment
• Resolve payer denials and conduct reimbursement analysis to maximize received payments according to contractual agreements

Required qualifications:

• Minimum one (1) year of collections or administrative experience
• High school diploma
• Demonstrated ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
• Experience with medical insurance claims processing is preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT-4, and ICD-10-CM coding is a plus
