Patient Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient billing operations, the full-time remote Patient Accounting Specialist will manage the submission of insurance claims, follow up on payments, and resolve denials to ensure maximum reimbursement according to payer guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely billing of insurance claims in compliance with regulations and payer guidelines
• Expedite larger dollar accounts and follow up on payments with insurance companies and patients
• Resolve payer denials and submit appeals as needed while documenting all actions taken

Required qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of collections or administrative experience
• High school diploma
• Demonstrated ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
• Experience in motivating debtors to pay
• Knowledge of medical insurance claims processing is preferred
