Job Summary

Assisting patients and clinics with account inquiries, the full-time remote Patient Accounts Representative will manage payment processing, insurance verification, and resolve financial concerns while ensuring compliance with corporate policies.

Key responsibilities
  • Responds to patient inquiries regarding account balances and billing statements, ensuring timely resolution within two business days
  • Processes and posts credit card payments daily, verifying and updating insurance coverage in the Athena software
  • Collaborates with internal departments to efficiently resolve patient account concerns and assists with financial assistance applications
Required qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in a related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in patient accounts, medical billing, or insurance verification in a healthcare setting required
  • 1-3 years of experience in a call center work environment preferred
  • Familiarity with Athena software and electronic health records (EHR) preferred
  • Basic knowledge of medical billing and insurance claims
