Patient Accounts Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Patient Accounts Specialist I - Physicians' Billing.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accounts receivable follow-up and collection procedures for timely reimbursement from third-party carriers
• Maintain communication with third-party carriers and report billing/reimbursement changes to management
• Assist in evaluating accounts receivable and developing collection strategies to reduce outstanding balances

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of collection experience in medical billing operations required
• Experience with automated billing systems, particularly GE IDX and ETM, preferred
• Knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT4 coding related to third-party carrier reimbursement
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local legal provisions regarding collection activities
