Patient Accounts Specialist

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Patient Accounts Specialist, the candidate will manage insurance verification and authorization processes for emergency admissions, primarily working remotely with occasional onsite obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Secures insurance benefits and patient liability for services designated as Central Financial Clearance (CFC) responsibility
• Collaborates with the Utilization Review team to ensure timely submission of clinical documentation and approval of length of stay
• Maintains daily performance benchmarks related to verification and authorization of accounts across all payers

Required qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent
• 1 year of experience in patient accounting, accounts receivable, or a related healthcare field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
• Proficiency in multiple payers' billing and collection processes
• Basic knowledge of UB04 and/or 1500 forms and Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
• Familiarity with medical terminology and CPT/ICD-9/10 coding
