Patient Accounts Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient patient billing processes, the remote Patient Accounts Specialist I will manage accurate billing, ensure timely submissions and reimbursements, and follow up on aged accounts while maintaining proper documentation in the facility's billing system.

Key responsibilities

• Determine patients' ability to pay and assist with payment plans or uncompensated care
• Resolve billing issues and ensure accurate claim submissions by reviewing error reports and correcting discrepancies
• Respond promptly to patient correspondence and inquiries from payers and insurance carriers

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Completion of Orlando Health team member development within 6 months of hire
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in revenue cycle
