Patient Advocate Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Patient Advocate Specialist to assist patients in resolving account balances for medical services by determining their eligibility for assistance programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Screen patients for eligibility of state and federal assistance programs
• Assist patients with applications for appropriate assistance and provide detailed instructions on securing benefits
• Maintain accurate documentation on patient accounts and follow up on application statuses

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Previous customer service or call center experience preferred
• Experience with medical coding or billing is a plus
• Proficient PC knowledge with typing skills of 30-40 wpm
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
