Patient Advocate Specialist

Job Summary

To support patient needs, the part-time hourly Patient Advocate Specialist will resolve account balances for medical services by screening patients for eligibility in state and federal assistance programs and guiding them through the application process remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Screen patients for eligibility and assist with applications for state and federal assistance programs
• Maintain accurate documentation in the CUBS system and follow up on application statuses
• Advise patients on available assistance programs and ensure compliance with deadlines

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Previous customer service or call center experience preferred
• Experience with medical coding or billing is a plus
• Proficient PC skills with the ability to type 30-40 wpm
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
