Patient Benefit Representative

Job Summary

Responsible for facilitating insurance and benefit analysis prior to service delivery, the full-time remote Patient Benefit Representative will review patient appointments, secure authorizations, and manage insurance referrals while mentoring fellow team members.

Key responsibilities

• Review patient appointments and admissions to analyze insurance and out-of-pocket financial responsibilities
• Obtain necessary authorizations and manage insurance referrals to ensure timely reimbursement
• Serve as a mentor to fellow Patient Benefit co-workers, sharing knowledge of insurance processes

Required qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of insurance terminology and medical insurance plans
• Experience completing financial clearance processes, including payment plans and bad debt resolution
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and insurance companies
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under stress while meeting deadlines
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform duties requiring prolonged standing and walking
