Job Summary
To support the Benefits Management Business Unit, the full-time Patient Benefits Advocate will verify insurance coverage for new and existing patients, manage electronic service requests, and ensure compliance with regulations while working onsite.
Key responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to insurance companies to verify patient benefits
- Evaluate insurance coverage for compatibility with services offered
- Handle requests for hospice contracts and maintain documentation in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
Required qualifications
- Associates degree in Communications, Healthcare Management, or a related field
- Two years of Medicare and insurance verification experience, preferably in oxygen or HME billing
- Experience working with Medical Sales personnel
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Fastrack, and/or Oracle
- A combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to the qualifications listed above
