Job Summary

To support the Benefits Management Business Unit, the full-time Patient Benefits Advocate will verify insurance coverage for potential new patients, manage existing patient requests, and ensure compliance with regulations while working onsite.

Key responsibilities
  • Make outbound calls to insurance companies to verify benefits and evaluate policy compatibility with services
  • Handle electronic service requests for insurance verifications and hospice eligibility reviews with attention to detail
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations while ensuring proper documentation of medical records according to HIPAA guidelines
Required qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Communications, Healthcare Management, or a related field
  • Two years of Medicare and insurance verification experience, preferably in oxygen or HME billing
  • Experience working with Medical Sales personnel
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Fastrack, and/or Oracle
  • A combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to the qualifications listed above
