Patient Billing Specialist

Job Summary

Working fully remote in a full-time capacity, the Patient Customer Service and Collection Specialist will address patient billing inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and collect outstanding balances for healthcare services while ensuring compassionate communication with patients.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee patient accounts and ensure the accuracy of accounts receivable (AR)
• Contact patients to collect outstanding payments and assist in creating reasonable payment plans
• Research and resolve patient billing inquiries while documenting all actions taken

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Proven experience in medical billing and collections
• Familiarity with relevant software and systems, including billing software and electronic health records
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare coding systems
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
