Patient Collections Specialist

Job Summary

To support a patient-focused healthcare revenue cycle, the full-time Patient Collections Specialist will manage billing inquiries, educate patients on financial responsibilities, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to patient inquiries via inbound and outbound calls, clarifying outstanding balances and processing payments
• Research and resolve billing inquiries, documenting actions taken and managing insurance eligibility
• Engage with patients empathetically to resolve issues at first contact and escalate concerns when necessary

Required Qualifications

• Availability during designated working hours, including occasional weekends
• Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong phone handling abilities
• Working math aptitude for handling payments and account reconciliations
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
