Patient Collections Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a part-time basis, the Patient Collections Specialist will manage patient billing inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and collect outstanding balances, ensuring compassionate communication and compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee patient accounts and verify the accuracy of accounts receivable (AR)
• Contact patients to collect outstanding payments and resolve billing inquiries
• Document actions taken to reconcile outstanding balances and prepare files for collection agencies

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Proven experience in medical billing and collections
• Familiarity with relevant software and systems, such as billing software and electronic health records
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare coding systems
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively
