Patient Collections Specialist

Job Summary

Working fully remotely, the full-time Patient Collections Specialist will address patient billing inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and collect outstanding balances for healthcare services while ensuring compassionate communication with patients.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee patient accounts and ensure the accuracy of accounts receivable (AR)
• Contact patients to collect outstanding payments and assist in creating reasonable payment plans
• Research and resolve patient billing inquiries while documenting all actions taken

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Proven experience in medical billing and collections
• Familiarity with relevant software and systems, such as billing software and electronic health records
• Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare coding systems
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail
