Patient Coverage Representative

Job Summary

To support patient coverage needs, the full-time Patient Coverage Representative will manage incoming calls, verify insurance information, and update electronic health records remotely from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Receives and processes incoming calls from patients and business office team members to verify and update insurance coverage in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Performs daily updates based on Visit Filing Order changes and ensures claims are directed to the correct payors
• Follows up on patient-initiated insurance changes and maintains accurate hospital account records and coverage information

Required qualifications

• High School Graduate
• Typically requires 2 years of experience in health care, focusing on registration, insurance, and billing
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payors
• Basic understanding of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and medical terminology
• Proficiency in data entry with an emphasis on speed and accuracy
