Patient Disability Advocate

Job Summary

To support patient advocacy efforts, the full-time Patient Disability Advocate will conduct eligibility screenings, assess financial requirements, and assist patients with applications and appeals while working remotely within 60 miles of an HCA Healthcare hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients for insurance coverage and assistance programs
• Obtain necessary medical evidence and documentation for eligibility determinations
• Provide advocacy for patients seeking disability benefits through the Social Security Administration

Required qualifications

• Minimum one year of related experience, preferably in healthcare
• Relevant education may substitute for experience
• Knowledge of federal and state assistance programs
• Experience with case management and patient advocacy
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow up with patients and agencies
