Job Summary

To support patient financial needs, the full-time Patient Financial Counselor will manage financial clearance, payment collection, and assist with eligibility determinations for state and federal sponsorship programs in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities:
  • Facilitate financial assistance by identifying patient eligibility and completing applications for various programs
  • Interact directly with patients and their families to resolve account issues and provide education on financial options
  • Utilize automated account follow-up systems to manage patient accounts effectively
Required qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office
  • 3 years of experience as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, preferably with Providence St. Joseph Health or its affiliates
  • 2 years of experience using automated, computerized account follow-up systems, preferably in Epic
