Job Summary

To support patient financial needs, the full-time Patient Financial Counselor will manage financial clearance, payment collection, and assist with applications for state and federal sponsorship programs in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities
  • Facilitate resolution of patient accounts through financial assistance and eligibility determination
  • Educate patients on financial options and complete necessary applications for assistance programs
  • Utilize automated account follow-up systems to track and manage patient financial interactions
Required qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office
  • 3 years of experience as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, preferably with Providence St. Joseph Health or its affiliates
  • 2 years of experience with automated, computerized account follow-up systems, preferably in Epic
