Patient Financial Counselor

Job Summary

To support patient financial needs, the full-time Patient Financial Counselor will manage financial clearance, payment collection, and eligibility determinations for assistance programs in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate the resolution of patient accounts through financial clearance and payment collection
• Identify patient eligibility and assist in completing applications for State and Federal sponsorship programs
• Provide education on financial assistance options and make eligibility determinations for Providence St. Joseph Health Financial Assistance

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office
• 3 years of experience as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, preferably with Providence St. Joseph Health or its affiliates
• 2 years of experience with automated, computerized account follow-up systems, preferably in Epic
