Job Summary
Supporting patients with financial counseling for outpatient, inpatient, and ambulatory surgery visits, the full-time Patient Financial Counseling Assistant will explain insurance policies, analyze financial situations, determine program eligibility, and assist with applications while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Explain complex commercial and government insurance policies to patients
- Analyze financial situations and determine eligibility for financial assistance programs
- Create accurate estimates, collect deposits, and set up payment plans
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 6 months experience in customer service or a healthcare environment
- Knowledge of PC and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology, coding, and third-party reimbursement
- Ability to work with multiple systems for task management and reporting
