Patient Financial Navigator

Job Summary

Serving as the primary contact for patients, the remote Patient Financial Navigator will provide financial counseling, insurance verification, and assistance with payment planning for Kandu's medical devices and services while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient financial discussions regarding insurance benefits and out-of-pocket costs
• Interpret explanation of benefits (EOB) documents and communicate findings to patients
• Evaluate patient eligibility for financial assistance programs and set up payment plans

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or patient financial services
• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance benefit structures
• Demonstrated proficiency with insurance eligibility verification systems and medical billing software
• Strong understanding of durable medical equipment (DME) billing practices and reimbursement
