Patient Financial Services Representative

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Patient Financial Services Representative will manage payment posting and billing activities, ensuring timely reimbursement for hospital services while collaborating with insurance companies on behalf of patients.

Key responsibilities:

• Process electronic and manual payment postings to patient accounts and handle adjustments, claims, and refunds accurately
• Reconcile account balances and pursue payments or denials, utilizing payer remits and facility contracts to maximize reimbursement
• Research payment discrepancies and communicate with internal and external customers to resolve billing and payment issues

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in patient financial services or revenue cycle
• At least 1 year of previous cash payment posting experience
• Strong knowledge of common office software, including word processing and spreadsheet applications
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
