Patient Financial Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting the Orthopedic business, the full-time Patient Financial Specialist will assist patients with billing, insurance verification, financial assistance programs, and payment plans, ensuring they understand and can manage the costs associated with their treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patients' insurance coverage and communicate with insurance companies to resolve discrepancies
• Establish payment arrangements with patients and provide guidance on financial assistance programs
• Serve as a point of contact for patients regarding their bills, clarifying charges and financial aspects of care

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• Previous healthcare experience is required
• Familiarity with co-insurance, co-pays, and out-of-pocket costs is required
• Previous experience with pulling and reviewing EOBs is required
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and RCM systems
