Job Summary
A company is looking for a Patient Health Benefits Counselor.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine patient qualification for financial assistance programs and payment arrangements based on confidential financial information
- Verify coverage and authorization for scheduled procedures using scheduling and registration information
- Act as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and community agencies to gather necessary information for authorization and benefits collection
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- 6 months of healthcare experience
- Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding
- Medical terminology knowledge
- High School Diploma or GED required
- CPR Certification (as required by facility)
