Patient Intake Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting new patients through the admissions process, the part-time hourly Patient Intake Specialist will gather required information, verify insurance coverage, and coordinate next steps for care in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and enter accurate demographic and clinical information for new patient admissions
• Verify insurance coverage and submit follow-up authorizations as needed
• Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation while coordinating with internal departments for timely care initiation

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in healthcare intake, medical office administration, or insurance support
• Experience with insurance verification or authorizations preferred
• High school diploma or GED required
• Background in home health, DME, or medical office is a plus
• Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
