Job Summary
As a full-time Patient Safety Specialist (NP, RN, PT, OT), the candidate will lead multidisciplinary safety initiatives within the Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine teams, working onsite 3-4 days a week and remotely 1-2 days a week to assess safety events, implement improvements, and foster a culture of high reliability and just culture.
Key responsibilities
- Lead cross-disciplinary safety initiatives and facilitate root cause analyses of safety events
- Build strong relationships with frontline teams to support safety improvements and staff during critical events
- Utilize data and quality methods to prioritize risks and drive measurable changes in patient safety
Required qualifications
- Master's degree or active enrollment in a Master's degree program, to be completed within 18 months of hire
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role related to patient safety programs
- Knowledge and experience with patient safety science and high reliability principles
- Experience in performance improvement and team facilitation preferred
- Prior experience in healthcare operations is preferred
