Payment Application Specialist

Job Summary

Ensuring accurate and timely payment posting, the full-time remote Payment Application Specialist will research and resolve discrepancies between Athena and USACS systems while collaborating with internal teams and external payers to maintain data integrity and optimize revenue cycle processes.

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Athena team to resolve duplicate or misrouted payment items and ensure efficient payment processing
• Communicate with payers to research and obtain missing information required for payment posting
• Accurately apply unpostable and correspondence records to patient accounts, minimizing errors in revenue recognition

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education in finance, accounting, or healthcare administration preferred
• Experience with Health Insurance Websites/Portals and financial records to resolve missing payments required
• Proficient in reviewing Explanation of Benefits and payment posting
• Prior experience in payment processing or revenue cycle management preferred
• Experience in communicating with payers to obtain missing information required
