Payment Application Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure timely and accurate processing of payments, the full-time Payment Application Specialist will post insurance and patient payments to Epic, balance those postings to bank deposits, and assist in resolving outstanding deposits while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Processes electronic remittances and manually posts payments, ensuring accurate transaction routing
• Balances postings to bank deposits using Epic and Microsoft Excel, maintaining departmental goals
• Identifies and resolves unidentified payment transactions, collaborating with third-party payors as necessary

Required qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• One year of medical billing or medical office experience preferred
• Experience in bookkeeping and cash balancing
• Knowledge of medical terminology and third-party payers preferred
• Familiarity with patient accounting principles and procedures
