Payment Posting Specialist
Job Summary
Ensuring timely and accurate application of manual and electronic payments, the full-time Payment Posting Specialist will manage payment posting, daily reconciliation, and communication of payment statuses while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Post manual and electronic patient/insurance payments and denials
- Perform daily reconciliation and identify root causes of credit balances and variances
- Research and resolve unapplied accounts and complete weekly EFT/ERA reconciliation
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in insurance billing/collections
- Ability to read and analyze insurance EOBs and familiarity with insurance rejections
- Knowledge of insurance contracts & reimbursement, as well as CPT and ICD-9, ICD-10 codes
- Proficient with medical practice management software and Microsoft Office
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently in a high-volume environment
