Payment Resolution Specialist
Job Summary
To ensure the accuracy and integrity of patient accounts, the full-time Payment Resolution Specialist will research and resolve payment discrepancies, perform detailed account analysis, and collaborate with internal teams and vendors while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies and account variances to maintain accurate account balances
- Work with Athenahealth worklists to review patient accounts and determine appropriate resolutions based on payment activity
- Process patient and insurance refunds in accordance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing, or a related field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook
- Ability to interpret payment activity and identify discrepancies for resolution
- Experience working within Athenahealth is preferred
