Payment Specialist

Job Summary

Managing the end-to-end payment process, the full-time hourly Payment Specialist will ensure accuracy and compliance while processing payments to external vendors and providers, resolving complex issues, and leading process improvement initiatives in a virtual environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare, audit, and generate complex payment files for submission to vendors, ensuring adherence to schedules and regulatory guidelines
• Monitor payment submissions for errors and discrepancies, taking corrective actions to prevent delays
• Analyze payment activity trends and provide reporting related to payment accuracy and reconciliation findings

Required qualifications:

• Understanding of medical billing, short payments, and denials
• Experience with reconciliation between various systems
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Access
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with individuals at all organizational levels
