Payment Specialist

Job Summary

Processing backup care payments, the part-time Payment Specialist will manage member reimbursement claims and direct payments to vendors and care providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client contract terms while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process payment requests for both member reimbursements and direct vendor payments according to client-specific policies
• Verify accuracy of receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation before processing payments
• Communicate with members and providers about the status of payment requests, including approvals and denials

Required qualifications

• No degree required; prior experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or similar roles preferred
• Ability to learn and apply various client-specific contract terms and payment policies
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail for payment accuracy
• Comfortable working with numbers and basic arithmetic
• Professional and empathetic communication skills for member and provider interactions
