Payments Analyst - High-Risk Underwriting

Job Summary

Evaluating and underwriting merchant and ISV applications, the full-time Payments Analyst - High-Risk Underwriting will work remotely to assess financial, operational, regulatory, fraud, and reputational risks while collaborating with various stakeholders in the payments ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Review and make underwriting decisions on merchant and ISV applications prior to submission to processors and acquiring banks
• Evaluate merchant compliance with industry standards and identify emerging risks while maintaining accurate underwriting documentation
• Build trusted relationships with merchants and partners, providing strategic support throughout the underwriting and merchant lifecycle

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of underwriting experience within high-risk payments or merchant acquiring
• 3+ years of experience in payments, fintech, or financial services
• Strong understanding of high-risk ecommerce and merchant risk
• Experience evaluating financial statements and chargeback trends
• Knowledge of KYC/AML requirements and compliance standards
