Payments Legal Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Special Counsel, Payments.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a legal partner to Product, Compliance, and Engineering teams for developing payments-related offerings
• Provide strategic legal advice to support the launch and scaling of payments products globally
• Advise on regulatory requirements and compliance for product expansion into new jurisdictions

Required Qualifications

• J.D. or equivalent with admission to practice law in the United States
• 7+ years of legal experience in payments, blockchain, and financial services
• Deep understanding of U.S. federal and state payments laws and regulations
• Experience advising product and engineering teams on legal requirements in payment network design
• Strong familiarity with financial institution partnerships and global banking institutions
