Payments Legal Counsel

Job Summary

Providing legal support for payment services, the fully remote Payments Legal Counsel will draft and negotiate agreements, assist with compliance procedures, and conduct legal research to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with payment service providers and third-party suppliers
• Support Know Your Business (KYB) procedures for verifying and onboarding corporate partners
• Conduct legal research on legislative developments to aid in business expansion and compliance

Required qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex legal texts and identify risks
• Business-level understanding of the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and fintech sectors
• Foundational knowledge of European licensing regimes, including MiCA, MiFID, and EMI/PSD
• Good knowledge of international AML regulations and the Crypto Travel Rule
