Payments Risk Analyst

Job Summary

Owning the end-to-end risk controls for ACH payments, the full-time Payments Risk Analyst will identify and mitigate fraud risk across Coinbase's fiat payment rails, driving detection and analysis of fraudulent activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage risk controls for ACH payments and scale fraud prevention processes
• Implement targeting logic to detect and mitigate fraudulent deposit activities
• Conduct quantitative analysis of fraud performance and present data-backed recommendations to leadership

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in risk, fraud, or payments operations, with at least 2 years focused on payments fraud prevention
• 2+ years of experience querying and analyzing large datasets using SQL
• Strong knowledge of ACH payment processing and applicable NACHA rules
• Experience using identity-provider data and fraud-detection tools to implement risk controls
• Proven ability to measure the financial impact of fraud decisions and communicate findings effectively
