Job Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Manager, this full-time remote position will manage end-to-end payroll for approximately 300 employees, ensuring compliance and accuracy while overseeing payroll accounting and reconciliations.
Key responsibilities
- Own and process payroll for employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy in onboarding, variable compensation, and offboarding
- Prepare payroll journal entries and perform reconciliations for payroll accounts, taxes, and benefits
- Design and maintain robust payroll processes and internal controls to support company growth
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of payroll experience with a strong foundation in payroll accounting and general-ledger reconciliation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and payroll tax regulations, including multi-state payroll compliance
- Hands-on experience with HRIS/payroll processing systems and accounting/ERP systems such as NetSuite
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and strong reconciliation abilities
