Payroll Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing firm, the full-time Payroll Specialist will manage all payroll functions, including processing timely and accurate payroll for salaried and hourly employees, while initially working onsite in Columbia, SC, and transitioning to a flexible remote arrangement after onboarding.

Key responsibilities

• Process timely and accurate payroll for both salaried and hourly employees using UKG
• Provide assistance to internal team members regarding payroll inquiries and troubleshoot payroll issues
• Reconcile payroll-related accounts and assist with annual audits and compliance checks

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 2 years of multi-state payroll processing experience
• Experience processing payroll in UKG is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of current state tax and overtime laws for multiple states
• Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity
