Payroll Specialist

Job Summary

To support accurate and timely payroll operations for employees across the U.S. and Canada, the Payroll Specialist will focus on end-to-end payroll processing, account reconciliation, issue resolution, and reporting in a fully remote, long-term contract role.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly and biweekly payroll cycles for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met
• Review timekeeping records and payroll summaries for data accuracy before finalizing payroll
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, preparing on-demand payroll reporting and maintaining compliance

Required qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience processing high-volume payroll in a fast-paced environment
• Hands-on knowledge of full-cycle payroll administration across multiple states, including U.S. and Canada practices
• Experience with payroll platforms such as UKG Pro, Ceridian, or similar enterprise systems
• Associate degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or a related field
• Strong familiarity with payroll compliance requirements and payroll accounting concepts
