PCB Designer

Job Summary

Working on a contract basis, the full-time PCB Designer will create and design printed circuit board layouts for circuit card assemblies, ensuring compliance with electrical and physical specifications while collaborating with design and manufacturing engineers in Salt Lake City, UT.

Key responsibilities

• Design and create PCB layouts based on inputs from design engineers and manufacturing process engineers
• Ensure all manufacturing and assembly requirements are met, including component placement and routing
• Develop and generate documentation for PCB fabrication and assembly, and update designs as needed

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 2 years of experience, or 8 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience with ECAD software applications, particularly Siemens Xpedition
• Knowledge of PCB design technologies and industry standards, including IPC and ASME/ANSI
• Experience creating ECAD library footprints and schematic symbols
• Practical knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly processes
