Job Summary
To enhance pediatric clinical documentation, the full-time Pediatric CDI Specialist will perform concurrent and retrospective reviews of medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness while collaborating with healthcare providers in a fully remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews of pediatric medical records to assess documentation accuracy and completeness
- Educate healthcare providers on documentation best practices and develop compliant queries to address documentation gaps
- Collaborate with coding professionals and multidisciplinary teams to align clinical documentation with coding and reimbursement standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of clinical documentation integrity experience, with at least one year focused on pediatric populations
- Strong understanding of pediatric physiology, disease processes, and documentation requirements
- Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS and knowledge of coding guidelines and methodologies
- Ability to evaluate complex pediatric medical records using clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
- One or more active credentials such as Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), or Certified Documentation Integrity Practitioner (CDIP)
