Pediatric Coding Specialist III

Job Summary

Serving as a senior subject matter expert, the full-time Pediatric Coding Specialist III will oversee complex pediatric coding portfolios, provide guidance on coding disputes, and mentor junior coding staff while working remotely from specified states.

Key responsibilities

• Code and resolve complex, high-risk professional encounters, including specialty procedures and telehealth exceptions
• Act as an escalation resource for coding disputes and payer policy conflicts, providing guidance aligned with coding standards
• Support training and mentoring of junior coding specialists, assisting with onboarding and developing educational resources

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• At least 5 years of experience in physician/provider coding required
• CPC or CCS-P certification required, along with an additional specialty credential
• Expert coding knowledge across assigned specialties and settings
• Strong analytical skills for coding quality management and process improvement
