Job Summary
To enhance county mental health and substance use disorder programs, the hybrid remote Peer Program Specialist will provide administrative and technical support, advocate for the peer community, and ensure representation of diverse voices while managing the peer certification program and collaborating with stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Advocate on behalf of the peer community and provide direct support for the peer certification program
- Coordinate compliance reports and collaborate on policies and procedures for program implementation
- Facilitate community stakeholder meetings and create educational presentations about peer certification
Required qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in behavioral health or a bachelor's degree in a related field
- Self-identified experience with recovery from mental illness or substance use disorder
- Strong understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and basic project management concepts
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
- Bilingual applicants, particularly Spanish speakers, are strongly encouraged to apply
