Peer Specialist for Veterans

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Peer Specialist-First Responder or Veteran.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group peer support services to first responders, military service members, and veterans in a virtual environment
• Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness about issues faced by first responders and veterans, and collaborate with professionals to ensure comprehensive care
• Serve as a case manager for assigned patients, coordinating therapy and discharge planning as directed by the treatment team

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Must have served in the military with an honorable discharge
• Associates degree required, preferably in psychology or a related field
• Completion of a peer support training program or certification required
• Personal experience with challenges related to military or first responder service is preferred
• Familiarity with resources available to First Responders and Veterans is preferred
