Job Summary
Leading a team of cybersecurity professionals, the full-time Penetration Testing Team Lead will plan, execute, and oversee advanced penetration testing and Red Team engagements for a federal civilian agency, ensuring the protection of sensitive information while working remotely from the National Capital Region.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate Red Team and penetration testing engagements across various federal systems, including network infrastructure and cloud environments
- Oversee test planning, execution, and reporting, ensuring thorough documentation and actionable findings for technical teams and senior officials
- Mentor junior penetration testers and maintain operational readiness of penetration testing tools and methodologies
Required qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in offensive security with expertise in penetration testing and Red Team operations
- Active Public Trust 6c clearance or the ability to obtain one
- At least one relevant certification such as OSCP, OSCE, GXPN, or CEH
- Hands-on experience with network, web application, and API penetration testing in large-scale environments
- Strong knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and familiarity with NIST SP 800-115 standards
