Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder I to work from home, primarily for East Coast residents in the EST time zone.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures for accurate coding
• Translate diagnostic and procedural phrases into coded form using procedure codes
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and recommend improvements for coding and data management

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required; graduate from a specialty training program preferred
• Medical Billing and Coding diploma required for Coder Level I
• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience preferred
• Certification such as CPC, CRC, or RHIT preferred for higher levels
