Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coder to work from home.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures for accurate coding
• Translate diagnostic and procedural phrases into coded form using appropriate codes
• Assist in training new coding staff and ensure compliance with coding guidelines

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required; graduate from a specialty training program preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience required
• Relevant coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC required upon hire
• Experience with encoder software for coding diagnoses and procedures
• Knowledge of hospital and professional coding guidelines and regulations
