Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coder (Pennsylvania resident).

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures for coding
• Translate diagnostic and procedural phrases into coded form using appropriate coding guidelines
• Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required; graduate from a specialty training program preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience required
• One relevant certification from AHIMA or AAPC required upon hire
• Certification options include CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, or CCA (with additional requirements)
• All certifications from AAPC are acceptable except for specific exclusions listed
