Pennsylvania Licensed Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support accurate health information coding, the full-time Pennsylvania Licensed Medical Coder will review medical records for inpatient and outpatient services, translate diagnoses and procedures into coded form, and ensure compliance with coding regulations while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Review medical records to identify principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures for coding
• Utilize Encoder software to determine and sequence appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation for accurate coding and reimbursement

Required qualifications:

• One relevant certification from AHIMA or AAPC is required upon hire
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; graduate from a specialty training program is preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience is required
• Knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations is essential
• Proficiency in computer coding and literacy is necessary
